Common questions

What's the difference between Browse and Search?

Browse shows every discounted ticket from a single departure station — all destinations, all dates at once. Search is for a specific route: you pick origin, destination, and date. Search a specific route

How often are new tickets added?

Every day. Sellers list when their plans change at short notice. If nothing's there today, leave your email on the no-results screen and we'll alert you the moment something from your station appears.

Are the tickets safe to buy?

Every ticket is checked by our team before it goes live. We only list tickets that can legally be resold under National Rail rules. If a ticket is rejected at the barrier and it's our fault, you get a full refund. More on buyer protection

What if there are no tickets from my station?

New tickets come in every day. On the no-results screen you can leave your email — we send one alert when something from your station is listed, then nothing else.

How is a ticket's price set?

Sellers set their own price. It must be below the original face value — SaveMyFare enforces this at listing. Most sellers price 20 to 50 per cent below face value to attract buyers quickly. The original face value is shown on every listing so you can see exactly how much you are saving.

What happens after I find a ticket I want?

Click through to the listing, review the journey details, and pay by card via Stripe. Your payment is held in escrow until your journey completes — the seller is not paid until after you have travelled. The seller transfers the ticket to you before the travel date. How escrow and buyer protection works

Can I buy a ticket for someone else?

Yes. Most advance tickets are transferable, meaning anyone can travel on them — not just the original purchaser and not just you. The journey, date, and class on the ticket must match the actual travel. Check the listing details to confirm there are no railcard restrictions.
